Evan started as a Voting Rights Organizer with the ACLU of Kansas in December of 2023 and is leading the organizing efforts in Sedgwick and Wyandotte counties, while also leading the ACLU’s statewide voter registration program, geared towards informing Kansans with felonies of their right to vote. He is tasked with developing volunteer leaders for the civil liberties movement, implementing training that builds the capacity of ACLU supporters, mobilizing grassroots support for campaign objectives, and educating Kansas residents about campaign objectives through person-to-person contact.

While studying political science at Washburn University, Evan served with AmeriCorps VISTA, a national service program focused on eradicating poverty in the United States. It was through this service that he witnessed firsthand the adverse impacts of systemic policies on marginalized communities, and became a passionate advocate for those communities. Evan’s political engagement extends back to 2015, encompassing diverse roles in partisan campaigns spanning from presidential to local levels across multiple states. His involvement includes serving as a Field Organizer, Call Time Manager, Finance Associate, and Campaign Manager, with the 2020 Pete Buttigieg for President campaign in Reno, NV holding a special place in his heart.

Born and raised in Kansas, Evan is excited to return to his roots, committing to fight for a better future for marginalized communities. Outside of his activism, Evan loves traveling to the West Coast, discovering new jazz music, and actively contributing to the recovery community.
