The ACLU of Kansas exhausts all possible options before pursuing litigation, which is a last resort. Writing open letters to public officials holds them accountable and can often resolve issues without getting the courts involved.

ACLU of Kansas letter to Ford County Clerk Debbie Cox

On October 3, 2018, the ACLU of Kansas wrote a letter to Ford County Clerk Debbie Cox addressing both historical polling place concerns and immediate concerns related to the relocation of a single, heavily burdened Dodge City polling site.
